A day with their sponsors – Deutschlandstipendium holders from the universities of Augsburg, Kempten and Neu-Ulm networks
Mastering small talk, choosing the right outfit for the right occasion and behaving appropriately even in tricky situations all contribute to professional success: 43 Deutschlandstipendium holders and 28 sponsors from the three universities in Augsburg, Kempten and Neu-Ulm (HNU) were able to apply these ‘rules of the game’ themselves when dealing with business contacts, including amongst themselves. At the Vöhlin Castle University Centre, they got to know one another and were able to put the knowledge gained in the workshop into practice that evening.
“How can you conduct yourself with poise when greeting people, introducing yourself, or addressing and taking your leave, and how can you avoid pitfalls and rectify embarrassing slip-ups? We aim to cover all of this in our workshop whilst also offering the opportunity to try it out straight away,” said Nadine Guttmann, who is responsible for the Deutschlandstipendium at the HNU. Over the course of four hours, the scholarship holders learnt what matters in business etiquette, the role played by attire and appearance, how to address business partners, and when and how to exchange business cards. The students were then able to put what they’d learnt into practice with their sponsors during a convivial get-together in the evening. For the sponsors, this provided an opportunity to get to know their students and to establish early contact with the leaders of tomorrow.
Among the sponsors present were IWL AG, Sparkasse Neu-Ulm – Illertissen, Waldburg-Zeil Clinics, DB Regio AG – Regio Allgäu-Schwaben, Robert Bosch GmbH, BSH Dillingen, ESK Ceramics GmbH & Co. KG, the Frank Hirschvogel Foundation, Elobau GmbH & Co. KG, AGCO GmbH, Mayr GmbH & Co. KG, Förderkreis für die Hochschule Kempten e. V., Huhtamaki Ronsberg and private sponsors.
