A thorough check-up – Health talks at the University Castle
Health concerns us all. With the “Illertissen Health Talks”, Neu-Ulm University, in cooperation with Servier Deutschland, is offering a new forum for public discussion on health policy. The talks will take place quarterly in 2013 in the stately Bacchus Hall. With the exception of the first event, they will be chaired by the President of Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr Uta M. Feser.
Renowned experts from across Germany will introduce the evening’s topic. Following this, representatives from professional associations, health insurance funds, medical associations, as well as from business, academia and politics, will discuss current trends in the healthcare sector in a factual – yet also controversial – roundtable discussion. Following the panel debate, there will be ample opportunity to ask questions. The event will be rounded off with an informal exchange with the healthcare experts over canapés and drinks in the ‘Vier Jahreszeiten’ foyer.
The opening event will take place on Wednesday, 6 March 2013, on the topic of ‘Innovative therapies – affordable for all?’. Participants in the first panel discussion are Prof. Dr Herbert Rebscher, Chief Executive of DAK-Gesundheit – who will also deliver the opening address – Wolfram-Arnim Candidus, President of the German Society for Insured Persons and Patients; Prof. Dr Franz Porzsolt, former Head of Clinical Economics at Ulm University Hospital; and Jürgen Geier, Head of the Health Policy Department at the pharmaceutical manufacturer Servier Deutschland GmbH.
