From High Castle to University Castle
Following the relocation of the Neu-Ulm Local Court’s branch office from the Vöhlin Castle in Illertissen to the town of Neu-Ulm, the three Bavarian-Swabian Universities of Applied Sciences are taking over the vacant Castle for further use.

Feser (centre), the President of Kempten University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr Robert F. Schmidt (left), and the President of Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr Hans-Eberhard Schurk (right).
The Bavarian State Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts has thus acquired a prestigious cultural and historical property to serve as a new scientific think tank and centre of innovation.
A new chapter in the castle’s history has begun.
