Shanghai meets Swabia – Chinese delegation visits the University Centre

The Vöhlin Castle University Centre has become a hub for international exchange students and visiting lecturers. Around 20 per cent of all events – such as research symposia, boot camps, team-building kick-off seminars for international degree programmes, and networking events in the spirit of global science diplomacy – take place with participants from every continent.

For example, as part of a two-week tour of European partner universities, a four-member delegation from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU) in Hangzhou/Shanghai stopped off at the Vöhlin castle. Following an English-language guided tour of the castle and a lecture on the trading houses of the Welser and Vöhlin families, the day was rounded off in a typical Bavarian beer garden.

Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU) is a technical university with around 16,500 students across 17 faculties. In addition to degree programmes in the natural sciences and industry, students are offered 49 Bachelor’s and 44 Master’s programmes in the fields of literature, economics, management and law. Furthermore, ZSTU runs two doctoral programmes.
